Ihwa Mural Village & Naksan ParkDongdaemun 245
East of Daehangno, Ihwa-dong climbs the slopes of Naksan and is known as a "mural village", with paintings on the walls along its stairways and lanes. It grew out of a public art project, and its views over an old-fashioned hillside neighbourhood became popular through TV dramas and social media.
At the top, Naksan Park follows Hanyangdoseong, the wall that once encircled the Joseon capital. The path along the wall looks out across the whole city, and the lit-up wall and night view at dusk are beautiful. Follow the wall south and in 20–30 minutes you reach Dongdaemun Gate (Heunginjimun) and DDP.

Ihwa-dong is a residential neighbourhood: keep your voice down and do not linger in front of people's homes. A great plan is sunset and the night view at Naksan Park, then walking down along the wall to Dongdaemun.
