Your trip budget

You are looking at example data. It disappears as soon as you log your first expense.

Leave out flights and hotels you have already paid — enter only what you will spend in Korea.

Wallet & top-ups (optional)

Fill these in to track what is left in cash, on T-money and on a travel card such as WOWPASS. Raise the amounts when you top up or exchange more.

How to use it

  1. Set a budget before you go
Choose your currency, your dates and the total you plan to spend in Korea, in won.
  2. Log each expense
Type the won amount from the receipt and pick a category and payment method. The date fills in automatically.
  3. Check what is left
See your remaining budget, how you compare with your plan so far and how much you can spend per day.

Add this page to your phone's home screen to open it like an app.

How the numbers are worked out

Nobody spends the same amount every day, so the tracker compares what you have actually spent with what you planned to spend by today, based on your total budget divided by the number of days.

Example: with ₩500,000 for 5 days, your daily budget is ₩100,000. If you have spent ₩250,000 by the end of day 2, you are ₩50,000 over plan (₩200,000), and about ₩83,333 a day for the last 3 days keeps you on budget.

Why track cash, T-money and travel cards separately

Cards work almost everywhere in Korea, but many visitors also use cash at street stalls and markets, a transit card such as T-money on the subway and buses, and a travel card instead of exchanging money. Enter how much you exchanged or topped up and pick the payment method each time, and you will see what is left on each. If you are heading home with lots of cash, spend it on souvenirs rather than changing it back.

FAQ

Should I include flights and hotels?

We suggest leaving out flights and hotels you paid before the trip. Put only the money you spend in Korea into your budget and entries, so the remaining budget and daily limit stay accurate. If you pay for a hotel in Korea, log it under Stay.

Do I log T-money or travel card top-ups?

No — put the top-up amount in the Wallet & top-ups section instead. When you ride or shop, log the spending with T-money or Travel card as the payment method and the balance goes down automatically. That way nothing is counted twice.

Where are my entries stored?

Nothing is sent to our servers — entries are saved only in the browser you are using. They stay there on the same phone and browser, but you cannot see them on other devices, and clearing site data deletes them. Download a CSV when your trip is over.

Will the converted amount match my card statement?

It is an estimate at a reference rate, so it can differ from your statement because of your card company's rate and foreign transaction fees. Use it as a budgeting guide.

Can I change my budget during the trip?

Yes. Change the total or the dates and everything is recalculated right away. Your entries stay as they are.
