Seosulla-gilIkseon-dong · Insadong 315
This lane runs along the western stone wall of Jongmyo, the UNESCO-listed royal shrine. The name refers to the "sulla", the night patrols of the Joseon era. Close to Jongno's jewellery district, it was long a quiet back street of jewellery workshops.
Recently, hanok restaurants, cafés and wine bars with views of the wall have made it one of Seoul's new favourite spots. When the wall is lit up in the evening, the mood becomes calm and atmospheric. It is a short walk from Ikseon-dong, so visit them together.
